Taking Fazzad from 0 to launch
Fazzad is the one-stop app for jumpstarting remodeling projects. Fazzad's comprehensive as-built survey packages connects building owners with architects, interior designers, engineers, and contractors, ensuring a swift start to your remodeling project. My role as a freelance designer was to design the experience from scratch, create prototypes, work on pitch decks, and collaborate with engineers.
Simplifying data management and costs with Slingshot
As one of the founding designers with Capital One Software, I played a key role in creating the Slingshot MVP, unveiled at the 2022 Snowflake Summit. I also contributed to team growth and am now leading design teams, collaborating on diverse product initiatives and features with cross-functional partners in Product, Engineering, Research, and Sales.

Making benefit administration seamless with Employee Navigator
As the sole designer, I directed and executed UX/UI design for new and existing product features, creating prototypes and collaborating with developers, product managers, and QA to achieve milestones. Additionally, I oversaw brand and marketing design, including email, blog, social media, and branding, as well as managed video and animation requirements. I also led the art/creative direction for our annual EN users conference from 2016 to 2019.

I am Romeo Martinez, originally from El Salvador and raised in Montgomery County, just outside Washington D.C. Creating meaningful work is my goal, and I seek to collaborate with individuals, companies, and brands that share these values. My specialization is in product design for both web and mobile apps, and I particularly enjoy contributing to projects from concept (0) to execution (1).
With a decade of experience in designing products, I have held roles in both individual contributor and leadership capacities, demonstrating strength in cross-departmental collaboration and holistic product thinking. My expertise encompasses design leadership, visual design, user experience, and design systems.
Outside of work, I am most importantly a husband & father. My interests include skateboarding, music, books, art, business, fitness, health, tech, and DIY projects.
